The Castle Auditorium Community Arts Center will be presenting a concert performed by the United States Air Force Heritage of America Rhythm in Blue Band at the Hazleton Area High School, 1601 W 23rd St; on Friday March 15th at 7:30 PM. Doors open at 7:00 PM. The event is sponsored by The Pasco L. Schiavo Memorial Fund of the Luzerne Foundation. This performance is part of a concert series the band is presenting across Pennsylvania and New York from March 15th-19th The concert is free and open to the public. Tickets can be picked up at Boscov's, Laurel Mall, Hazleton. A limited number of tickets will also be available at Eventbrite.com and are free to print out. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
Rhythm in Blue features the diverse talents of 14 professional musicians whose commitment to excellence has earned worldwide acclaim and military distinction. The band incorporates a wide repertoire of jazz and fusion, from big band swing to cutting-edge contemporary music. Their fabulous vocalist captures the sound of the great jazz standards and inspires with patriotic classics.

Activated in 1941, The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band has a rich history of inspiring public patriotism and enhancing esprit de corps among all the US military service branches. These world-class musicians are stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. They travel throughout the Carolinas, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, presenting over 350 events annually for the general public and in support of Airman morale and protocol events.
The USAF Heritage of America Band remains at the forefront of communicating Air Force core values and preserving and enriching America's military and musical heritage into the 21st century.

Directions
From Lehighton/Philadelphia/Turnpike:
Take the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the Mahoning Valley Exit #74. Follow Route 209 South through Lehighton and Jim Thorpe to Route 93 (approximately 2 miles outside of Jim Thorpe). After passing the Macusso’s Motel/Restaurant on your left, turn right onto Route 93 North. Take Route 93 North for approximately 12 miles to Route 309. Turn right onto Route 309 to parking areas on map.
From I-81 North or South:
Take Exit 143 to Route 924 North (CAN DO Expressway) toward Hazleton. Follow Route 924 West 2.3 miles to Route 93 (Broad Street). Continue straight onto Diamond Avenue and go 0.7 miles to Route 309 (Church Street). Turn left onto Route 309 North and continue about a quarter mile to parking areas on map.
From I-80 East or West:
At the Interstate 81 junction, take Interstate 81 south then follow the I-81 directions.
From Route 309 traveling north:
Follow Route 309 to the center of the City of Hazleton, continue north of the downtown area, make right at 8th St.
The former St Joseph Hospital is on the 8th St. corner.
From Route 309 traveling south:
Turn left on 8th St. The former St Joseph Hospital is on the 8th St. corner.
